Do you think so?
I was thinking one of these...
TIP: Measure twice, cut once
plasma works great but with this thin material you need to make some kind of ruler / mould ( sorry... no clue what the proper english word is) to cut along and cut fast
Thanks for the heads up. What happens if you go slow?
Lot of slag/dross on the bottom side of your cut. The cut could angle as well ... though body panels are pretty thin so likely not in a detectable way.
Slag and heat. Angle won`t be a problem with thin material. Just use some test material. Cutting fast is really fast.... that`s why you need the mould. more speed is less heat so that would be a good thing. clean up the cutting edge before welding.
I think I'll use Alan's suggested method then. I'd rather slow and controlled .
