Replaced my power brake booster…  reacquainted myself with a few cuss words I hadn’t used in a while and found myself wishing I could strangle the engineers who didn’t realize my fingers and arms don’t bend the way they designed things for that tight space.  ;)

Finally starting the "meat" of my 518 transmission install, getting my car up on the Kwik Lift and starting the process of removing the 727.

Awesome!  good luck with your conversion.  Keep us updated!

Yes!  thankfully...  though I had accidentally disconnected the switched power to the EFI unit while thrashing under the dash...  took a while to find...  and the old 8-pin harness connector to the steering column broke in my hand (repaired with electrical tape)... and the brake light switch was always on after the install...  adjusted the switch on the pedal...

It's like herding cats...  :)

Needle fell of my tach. a couple years ago. Finally replaced it. Looks neater but I need to get a better clamp. Any recommendations?

Rotate your clamp so the tightening screw is on the bottom. Then you won't see it. You could also paint the band black so it is less noticeable.

The clamp can't be helped. My 4" clamps are too small and my 6" are too big. Can't find 5", so I coupled a 4" and an old radiator clamp  ??? Band itself isn't too bad, just that old rusted one looks like crap and no matter how I turn it at least one worm gear will show.

Check with a farm equipment dealership for a 5" clamp. That's where I got mine.

I did great things for the environment today. I drove a Hybrid. Burning gas and rubber  ::) My buddy had access to a Gopro cam through his employer so we took the cuda and taped about 45 minutes of musclecar cruizin in Dutch towns & countryside  :)  Plan was to use an external mic, so I made a bracket to hold it between the pipes,  but the input on the cam was toast....  :pullinghair:
It will still be fun to watch... when done...
He took a few pics as well. Here`s one

I'm actually going to strip and re-paint it some other color in the next year or so because black is a pain in the a$$ to keep clean.
