Hey Goody,  the 518 is based on the 727.... just an overdriven 727 :2thumbs:

Dang, thanks. Just curious because i have my $650 904 converter i'd like to keep, seems like a gear vendors is the only route to go with an overdrive and non-lockup/high stall. First time i've heard of that cable toggled version, thats interesting. But still for the cost, i'd be happier puttin that $$ twords a 5-spd manual myself!

Thanks-

i'd think you better have a gnarly trans cooler setup to run one with a stout converter.

Hey Goody,  Their is another version of the overdrive box that is based on the 904 aswell..............

Thier are two kinds of overdrives offered, would have to talk more with Tractransman to findout the nitty gritty, but their is a non-lock-up convertor aswell as a lock-up convertor styles. :2thumbs:

The 904 version is the A500.  They can be found with or without the lockup.  Look for them in the 89-95 dakota, ram, ramcharger, and van.

I have an A500 lockup in my garage, but I would prefer to have the non-lockup.  It would go in the Challenger.

I have had my GV for 4 years now.  I consider it the best upgrade I have ever made to the car.  Well worth the 2300 I paid for it.  Very reliable and trouble free.

Ya can't beat cruising 72mph at 2400 rpm.

Ouch 3500  .  I probably should not show you this pic.   I just put in a Dynamic converter on Monday.  :ylsuper:  I'm hoping the RPM may go down a little more compared to my old MP 175K
