Subwoofers in trunk
« on: April 25, 2008 - 10:20:42 AM »
How do you guys mount them...that is...how and what do you attech them to?  I have a subwoofer in box maybe 16" cube and can't figure out how I can secure it in truck.  Maybe make a different enclosure for it possibly?

I made a mounting plate and attached the amp and subs to that.

How did you attach it to the car?

Do you have a sub in the trunk as well?

So you built sort of a form fitting box and shoved it in there then?  Never slid out while executing a holeshot?  :burnout:

I use to have a setup similiar to 4Cruizn, but it rattled my car too much, so I ended up taking it out.

Yeah I haven't managed to knock it loose, I may have to rethink that with the new motor.LOL

I can probably add a bracket off of the spare tire hold down.

Tom

It fits in there tight, I made it to the dimension and then added carpet and that snugged it in there tight.

In my neon I made my own box and painted it. Since it has carpet all I had to do was buy some velcro. I used the loop side and stuck it to the bottom of the box, 2 inches wide and a couple of strips. My box has a 52 lb. JL W7 and it has never moved. I bet with the box(slot ported) and sub together is about 70 lbs. I dont know for sure how I will mount the sub in my Challenger when I do that stereo.
