Is your car going to be stock? Any relocation kit and/or B-body diff? If not and you stay stock, I'd go for 275/50-17. You can get nice Nitto tires that are perfect for 8" rims. They are V rated (149mph+ / 240kph+) and have a nice overall height of 27.90 which are close to the standard 275/60 BFGoodrich that the majority run for a nice bum lifting (anti sag) rear. They have good tread depth too (9/32). That's what I'd run. You maybe able to find some 295s but the diameter would be a 40 to 45 series tops, so the overall height will be low, rubber band low. But, that all depends on what tickles your fancy, you may want the lower profile tire. Low profile = bad launch traction, good handling.
