Wow. Nice car. I think I would just clean it up and enter it in survivor-class shows.

Can you tell me what paint work has been done?
Is there any rust on the body?
Do you have a pic of the trunk without the mat?
Also do you have a pic of the lower quarters?
Thanks

I read somewhere on the site that the L.A. plant did 2 tag cars that way.   :dunno:
1971 Challenger (OO==== ====OO) getting close!
1970 Challenger (OO########OO) long ways off

That is fairly normal for 1970 LA two tag cars.

the paint work that was done is from the trim to protect it from door dinges and up about a foot on both sides. the owner said it was done to get rid of the door dinges and chips but over the past 2 decades it faded slightly more that the original paint. the rust is very minor but I will check it out thoroughly tomorrow and post what I find. I can take a photo of the trunk with the mat up and lower quarters.

hmmm not sure why, my camera is digital and is high in contrast and I just hosed the car down but other than that I can't think of why it looked that way.

The 71 I just purchased has 2 tags and the tags must have been placed the same way and it was built in  Hamtramck Mich when I got the car they had been placed side by side but looking at them now it looks like the way they are on the cuda makes more sense because of where the holes in the tag are placed!! great to know since I am now trying to do a resto on it!!   :thumbsup:

The car has minor surface rust in the trunk  (one part a little more than minor but still very fixable without replacing the trunk) and underneath is clean with just some surface rust. The lower quarters have a little bit of rust but should be fixable just by sanding it off. Check out the old spare tire!!!
