The color is the special order orange for 1970. Not sure what it is called. When I saw it I knew the car had to be that color. I've only got about 10 full runs on the car. It has already went a best of 9.549 @ 137.35mph in legal Super Stock/FA trim.

That's one beautiful race car!   The color is Go Mango (EK2) & a good choice at that...(Go Man-Go)..

Are you sure it's Go-Mango? I had a pint sample of Go-Mango and it was differant. They guy at PPG printed out a color chart and there were 4 special order colors in 1970. I believe a yellow,  a green,  a blue and this orange. Go-Mango was on the chart as well but didn't have 999 next to it like this color did. If anyones has info on this color I'd love to know. Thanks, Eric

Eric, Congrats on your first outing with that really nice/fast ride.

I wish I was back in SuperStock, I really do miss it. But it's just got to out of control with the cost to run one and the expense to travel...

I'm still trying to get my '71 Cuda SuperStocker back and convert it to a neat 340 Prostreeter...

G-Man.....do you mean how tall of a rear tire does it have? The rear tires are 14.5 X 33 Micky Thompson Radials.

Vin......Thanks! Super Stock like everything else has gotten out of hand. I've had to do it a little at a time. The motor in the car took me 4 years to biuld. You ought to price a SS Hemi these days. They run about $60,000. I think it would be so cool to have a street Hemi in my car running SS/CA. I think it would run in the 8's. I'm only about $60,000 short though. The thing that really adds up is the hotel, tow rig, fuel and time off work. I'm hooked though.....I love the factory muscle cars in Stock and Super Stock. It really amazes me how much power a Stk and SStk engine make. Mine is knocking on the door of 750HP from a 440 6 Pack. A SS Race Hemi mades over 900HP.

What combo did you run in your 71?

Eric

Eric,
I ran a '71 340 Cuda combo in SS/JA thru the '70's. I sold that car to my friend back in '80. Then I went Stock Elminator in '80 with a '72 340 Cuda in I & J/SA raced that car until '85 and then sold it to Jimmy Harrington out here in Jersey and the week after he bought it from me he won the Gatornationals that year with it.
Then I built another Stocker a '74 Duster in '85 ran G,H,I/SA with two engines 340 & 360, got down to the semi's a the '85 Keystonenationals with it the same year. In '01 I sold all my stuff and drove for a friend with a C/SA cobra-jet Mustang for a year and half. Now I went full circle back into street muscle cars (heck of alot cheaper & less time then the racer).
Good Luck the rest of the season..
  Vin....

Thanks Vin!

Only going to race a few more times this season. I'll be at the Fontana Sports Nationals and the 2 races @ Las Vegas.

On a differant note I found the paint code for the orange I painted the car. It's 60436. Has *999 next to it and just says orange. Looks like there are 3 special order colors in 70.
