Thanks mate, been doing plenty of research and have seen and heard of them before.
Looking at them or the John Azzrua mounts. Or, a new frame altogether.

Thanks.

Carl, I know I'm late here but that is for sure a sample of how well things were made back in the day. I had to deburr the one for the 71 Cuda I'm doing right now. If your original K is nice why not use that one with a set of conversion mounts?

Thanks Shaun, not too late. Seems very overwhelming in favour that it is factory. That is a shock, well was, over it now lol. I will be shipping it back to Tim for a full refund including shipping. I'm thinking that way but the only thing is if I go Schumacher mounts that requires a Keith Black oil pump and talking to Tim he said the mounts can and will fit but will require some mods, which is fine but he had no guarantee that it would not only be mod required and may require changing other engine bits, not what I want. I've emailed John Aruzza but no reply yet, no website either but his name pops up in a lot of searches throughout the Mopar community. Does anyone know of a vendor for him?

Ps: Thanks for helping me get the KPH Cluster Shaun. It's in and I'm very happy.
The core has been sent back to Barrie.

Glad it all worked out. What was the total time from Barrie ordering it till you got it?

Holy right hand drive batman, is that all new factory parts to convert it or do they convert the original pieces?

LOL! I'll say, holy big hole in my bank account Batman is more correct. :crying: (Hence Madeline is on hold for 5-6 months+). It's all new and fabricated by them. They do around 1-2 Dodge Rams a month, all styles and around 0-5 SRTs a year, the first Night Runner they have seen or heard of though, so cool for me (to be unique).

Barrie, Ummm, I think it was around 3 weeks in total. Problem at my end, someone failed to put my phone number so they couldn't call for me to pay customs so I got a letter via snail mail. But, yeah, 3 weeks and the MPH factory unit was on it's way back for core charge. Barrie was very helpful indeed. I'm a little confused, is Barrie the parts guy at YOUR dealership or at another branch in Canada? A few more photos of the RHD Conversion. It must be weird for you guys to see this stuff as you would hardly feel the need to convert a RHD to LHD car everyday........lol

Just curious. Does the NZ government require this RHD conversion for imported autos or are you doing this for convienence?

Hi Jimmy!

By law, any vehicle imported into New Zealand MUST be converted to RHD if they are later than 20 years at time of import. So, as of today, anything before 1988 doesn't have to be converted, everything after must be. There is one way of getting around this if you must have LHD (for some reason) and that is. To legally drive a LHD vehicle in NZ you must have owned the vehicle for 90 days or more in the country of origin.

You can then import it back in your name and it can legally remain a LHD vehicle. So, I had to by law and I would have converted to RHD even if it was by choice simply for convenience. These aren't the smallest trucks around and being RHD makes life a little easier for the daily/weekly driver it will be. Can't wait, purchased it September last year, have been very patient. The beast will be here in 2-3 weeks tops.

I can't imagine how much is involved with that crossover. I'm sure there are a lot electrical mods that have to be done, too.

I think it would cost much less if you just simply moved over here! Think of all that freight money in savings! :money: :smilielol:

I really wonder if your NOS  K member was an assembly line reject since it had too many bad flaws through it.  I have seen junky factory K members in the past. Yours seemed to have more issues then any I have seen with the burn through holes and such.  I think it's possible that it was chucked asside because of the very bad welds. It may have been an issue.

Hi Carl, Just caught your problem(actually just became a member & was reading threads) about the poor shape of the K-member. Fact is we welded some pretty crappy pieces. I worked at Chryslers from 1967 to 1978 & was part of the on going party culture that worked there. New hires were the daily thing with Vietnam taking most of the guys & drugs taking the rest. Turn over of employees was 40% /month!!!  Never buy a car built on Monday or Friday was the warning on the street. Over 50% absent on Friday, replaced by temps & hardly an aware junkie on the job on Monday. The K-member was probably welded by a new hire or temporary replacement, NOT ME, I worked on the gate line where the body came together.   Never heard stories of rattles being actually liquor bottles hid inside doors so supervision wouldn't see them?? Drugs being found 20 years later when dismantling cars??? All true, unfortunately.  I have a couple of '66 Sport Fury convertables, one a 426 & I've repaired quite a few of the poor quality welds & pieces on the cars. I am always suspect of a perfect late 60s' early 70s' car & I own 12 other Chrysler vehicles including a Dodge 3 Window Business coupe w/325 Hemi. LOL that's the way it was, 1967, I was there,  reporting from Windsor....Hemi Sport

Hello HEMI SPORT. Welcome to the site and please be sure to post in the intro section so we can all welcome you.  We are suckers for photos too, so if you have some shots of your cars to share that would be great.  It is always cool to hear info right from the horses mouth - usually we get plenty from the other end!

Sorry to hijack the thread.

Thanks Hemi Sport, welcome to the site bud.

Without a doubt now, to me, it's obvious it is indeed a factory piece.
I'm just looking at options on replacing it. FJ5 - Not a problem mate.

There were some wicked drugs around back in the 70's  :eek4:
Once we had Ronald Reagan, Bob Hope & Johnny Cash. Now we have Obama, No Hope and No Cash!
