probably not , the big problem with the 906 is it is an emissions head & has the open chamber which tends to promote detonation even in low compression engines , at least the stealth head si a closed chamber head even if the design is not great

I would believe so , you will spend more on the 906s & the Stealth is a better head

I wish there heads had been available a few years ago.

Actually we are having problems getting them in the UK. 440m Source have ignored some orders from the UK and when contacted have stated "we want all the stock for the domestic market". :bricks1:

So far, apart from what has been said here I have only heard that;

The seat to head transition is not great, minor clean up required.

The fire ring on a head gasket can overhang the chamber, ROL gaskets seem to offer the best fit.

The as supplied springs are not great, factor in the cost of a set of springs for solid lifter cams. But you should match the springs with the cam anyway.

Hi Guys,

I had a request for some real world flow figures on my 440 source heads.  I took these down to my friend who tested them on his Super Flow 600 flow bench at 22 degrees Celsius which converts to 71.6 Fahrenheit.
The heads were pulled straight from the box and stripped of there spring and retainers, and then flowed them with zero work on any of the heads what so ever.  Straight out of the box.

These heads are an excellant head regardless of there price.  As you can see buy the flow figures they peaked out at .600 lift with an estimated 578 HP.  Remember these heads were straight out of the box, there is very little port work that needs doing for extra gains, just be mindfull of where to take material out from. :2thumbs:

I like those numbers!  Those are just as good/very close as the Stage VI #'s I have seen out of the box.  Thanks Kenny for posting those #'s!

I will findout on Monday what method he uses.  But he was real impressed because he had just bought a bare set of Stage 6 Mopar heads and ported them, they owe him twice the price of my 440 source heads, and he said that the 440 source heads were one of the better heads he has had on his bench for quite some tome, they even left the Stage 6 for dead in the lower lift areas and had no stumble at all.  Very impressive. :clapping:

Hey Don,
I am glad that you liked this post buddy.  My friend also said that he had a quick look over the 440 source heads as a visual and the intake port on a Stage 6 is much higher and will need a spacer plate, while a 440 source head is standard like a set of 906 iron heads, it appeared to have a better short turn than the 440 source becuase of this design, but like i said he was amazed at how good they really are.  Looks can be decieving. :22yikes:
