I'm also doing some thoughts about Stealth.   I've never seen any pic of these heads orange painted and covered by a stock valvle cover.   I would like to check how they appear in to a "stock looking" engine bay.

Anyone have some photos ?

I'd post some but it appears that the photo upload area is full.

Using MP valve covers, but the heads are painted.  I can get better pics if you'd like.

thanks Jerry.
with a painted valve cover they probably look very close to a stock engine.  Do you agree ?

Yes, with painted stock valve covers, it'd be hard to visually tell the heads were aluminum.

:iagree:the stealth heads appear to be top notch , i unpacked them the other day and boy was i impressed with the work . i am going to drop them off at the machine shop for gasket matching and to get the bowls blended and the valves back cut . in my openion on a 10.5 to1 440 they will make great power as is!  have to get them milled to reach the compression thats needed .

Jerry's pic looks like the engine that Alan is building me!  Only difference will be intake.  Im currently saving towards a set of CNC ported stealths!  Im sure Alan will post some pics once he has them.

Thanks for the pic Jerry!

I figured i would link this tread for any interested folk.
Also as a side note the 2nd Gen 440 source heads have a 80cc chamber (they shrank it to avoid the occational 1st gen problems where the gasket would overhang, this was also a problem on the edlebrocks when they first came out) And if anyone has a set with overhang problems there are 2 ways that i have heard to fix it. 1. Slightly drill the head gasket dowel pin hole oversize or 2. Use offset dowel pins (I have seen them but cannot remember who makes em!  :screwy:)

Any way here is the link http://www.bigblockdart.com/forum/showthread.php?16578-Stealth-head-gasket-pictures&highlight=stealth+head+gaskets

Or even easier is to use the Felpro 8519 head gasket, problem solved!

in a recent post on another board i heard from many engine builders that they are haveing more stealth head type problems .

these problems could be from the first round of heads made.

 1 valve guides comming loose
2 valve seat comming loose from head
3 valve locks and retainers brakeing under high engine speeds
4 broken valve springs (the springs that come with it)
5 springs with alot of pressure causing valve guides to come loose

i dont have confermed information of this as it comes from the in ternet as we all know about BS.
has anyone actually bolted on  a set of these heads and  ran them hard at the track and dyno right out of the box?
has anyone actually built an engine with a measureable amount of power with  REAL hp #s have been noted ?
has anyone raced with these heads to prove their real world reliability.
i also noticed mopar muscle and mopar action has been advertizing and doing build offs with the eddys and indys . also noting their strengths and weak points with tons of power with proven results and wins on and off the race track. where is the info on the stealths (excludeing mopar collectors guide)

i bought these heads looked them over sent them out to have them flow bench tested . the results with out porting where 280 cfm about what the web site states .
with impressive results right out of the box untouched , was told by a great source that they will support a 600 hp engine with the right components / will support a 6200 rpm redline with the right set up in the mix.   the reason i bought the heads was the above and the price .

bottom line ------> where is the actual proven data<--------Bill

Mine were checked out by my machinist and were good to go. I got them last year and still have all the original parts on them. I have beat the living snot out of them for about 4,000 miles. Just 2 weeks ago I pulled them after hearing about cracking and pourocity issues. I was glad to see they looked as good as the day they were shipped. Forgot to mention the car has been ran well over 100mph on many occasions. I also had them milled .030 while I had them off, because I cc'd them at 86 and wanted around 80 for increased compression. What a difference!
