Well that is the next step isn't it.

Someone (AirFuelEddie?) should do a flow test after a simple "home port" type of job to see what the results are.
I'm about to conduct all those tests and post em on this board. Hopefully I'll have them done by this March,09. Thanks Roppa

I already did that but my customer didn`t want to spend the $240 to test after & I don`t have the extra $$ either

I own stealth heads and many other 440Source parts and have never been treated with anything but respect by those guys. Iv'e spent quite alot of time just getting my questions answered on the phone, sometimes not even related to their products. Unlike most of you guys here this is the first car i've built,(im 26) so i have tons of questions and sometimes stupid stuff i probably could have found the answer to myself. Not only that, but the quality of their products are amazing and the overall value is unbeatable.

I'm planning maybe this summer to get aluminum heads. For the price the 440 source heads look like the winner in my opinion. I've been reading posts about this head and the gasket hanging in the combustion chamber concerns me? In other post guys have had to weld a new set of heads?? That's not cool! Have any of you had this problem? Does one just have to get the right gasket? If so which one?
I lost my job of 17 years to China so I'm not a big fan of the fact they are made there. But I'm not a fan of Walmart
( Chinamart)for the same reason but I admit I do still shop there.
For me this will be  only a street car, of cource  like everyone else I'd like the biggest bang for my buck. The stroker kits look just too tempting as well?
Any thoughts on the gasket issue?
I haven't heard about Indy aluminum heads  ( 440 standard EZ kit) as compared to the edelbrock heads or stealth?
All I know for sure at this point is BB mopar parts are so much cheaper than BB Buick ( I just finished one last summer) :woohoo:

I have been using the Cometic gaskets with any alum head , they come in different bore sizes & are reusable
you pay more for the Indy EZ head but get more as well , the cobustion chamber is a better design & they come with 10* retainers & locks

The fire ring on a head gasket can overhang the chamber, ROL gaskets seem to offer the best fit.

the flepro marine gasket fits the best.... head gaskets are very minimal on the 440 source head so compression can be an issue   :working:

I just did a dyno pull (engine dyno) with my 543 stroker and a set of ported Stealth heads. Running 11:1 compression the motor made 610 HP @ 5400 RPM with 651 ft/lbs of torque. NOT BAD!!! The Stealth heads have Hughes cyrogenically treated rocker shafts and roller rockers. These heads have proven themselves to be top quality and flow well enough when ported to easily make 600 plus horsepower!! No complaints here!! :woo: I have a post in the "proven engine combo" section if interested in the complete motor specs!! :2thumbs:
