Getting closer to working on my cuda

This is one of the projects keeping me from going crazy on my cuda.  My son's 68 Sport Fury.  It is finally going to paint on monday and by next weekend we should be into re-assembly.  Next is my wifes 63 valiant which should take about a month and a half to finish and then cuda time.  You can see my sloppy overspray while respraying the gaps and jams.

The carb looks incredibly dinky. Is this a 318, 2-BBL setup?

Yes it is, but my 21yo son is attempting to use this as his daily driver.  It is also the wide block 318 which makes the carb look even dinkier.

 That's what threw me a bit. I can certainly understand him looking for good gas mileage right now.  :grinyes:

The 318 wide blocks came with a 2 barrell, or a 4 barrell or a 2x4 system. They can be made real fast quite easy

The only part of this car we did not go completely over is the engine.  It has 67000 original miles and fired right up first time.  Smoothed out in a few minutes also.  So the plan is drive it for a bit and see how it holds up.  Over the winter we may build it up a bit and put a 4bbl on it.  It is a buckets and console car as well.  He won't be driving it in the winter but I'm hoping he'll get a little runabout and save this beast for evenings and weekends.

That looks like it will be a very nice car when it's finished.  I have only seen one wide block Poly 318 and they really look different than what I'm used to.  I bet you're really waiting to get enough time to get the 'Cuda going, but at least you're putting two other MoPars on the road before then. :cheers:  I remember driving my cousin's '66 Valiant Signet with a 360/4-speed combo several years back.  While the styling isn't my favorite, that little A-body could really move! :grinyes:  Definitely post some photos of your son's car when it's finished as well as your wife's '63 Valiant. :2thumbs:

It should be a solid lifter engine...and touchy to adjust.  Make sure it's good and warm :2thumbs:
