Is it possible/practical to somehow lift the existing vinyl up past the bit of rust on the roof pillar and along the rear window. repair the rust, and then reinstall the vinyl?  New vinyl is just TOO much $$$

Hi Guys,

Here is a copy of what i recieved from Legendary interiors through my e-mail. :jumping:

Hey guys,
We are expecting sample Gator grain material in next week that we anticipate will have the correct grain, color as well as the 1,200 hour level (5) UV protection quality. If we are satisfied with this sample, we will begin taking orders for actual tops. Our extensive research and development will ensure that our Gator grain vinyl is "as original" as possible. In fact with our 1200 hour UV protection this will exceed original specs. We anticipate having the roll material to begin production of the vinyl tops in approx 2-3 weeks. The first shipment will be enough vinyl for us to make approx 25 vinyl tops. The final shipment of material will be here in 30-60 days after the first batch. The introductory price has been established at $1,195 each through May. After the 30 day introductory price the cost for each top will be $1,295. Continuing with our tradition of bringing the highest quality most original products to the market, we appreciate your interest and patience during this development process. We understand this is a product you have been waiting on for several years and we are confident that you will be more than satisfied. For additional information please contact me directly and I will be happy to assist you.

That is basicly the same info I was told on the phone except they are having problems getting the UV numbers they want and the sample is delayed. The best they have gotten is 500 hours so far.

Hey I just received a sample of gator grain from Legendary interiors (1" x 5").   Looks nice, now I have the tough decision to pay the $$$$ or wait until I actually start working on my RT/SE.  Currently I am waiting for Morton builders to begin constructing my new garage, so most of my money is tied up.

Wowsa, that is gonna be some high dollar vinyl top material! I will just stick to the original white that my car came with, I have to, the top is already in my parts closet. I guess if I had an original gator grain car I could justify all that coin for it. Sure looks cool I must admit.

I know what you mean, but when you have a car that needs it, it would be the finishing piece that is needed. :2thumbs:
