Hello new to the site
« on: May 03, 2008 - 06:12:12 PM »
Hello just want to say that all you seems to know lots about these e-body's and hopefully will be able to help me out a bit with with my first one.  I purchased a 1970 challenger original 318 auto that is pretty solid but needs work.  As far as body work it seems that the major work will be a new quarter panel, trunk floor, trunk lid and hood,  everything else looks o.k but wont know till disassembly.  The drivetrain will be out of an 07 300c that had 1100 km.  Suspension (coil overs vs torsion bars, rack and pinion vs gear box)  and brakes 4 wheel discs are still undecided.  I plan on making a nice street driver that can handle and stop.

Wow newbie, that car looks good. You should be more careful next time pulling it out of the lean two with that tractor. Body work is expensive... Looks good and welcome to the site

Welcome to the site!  It looks like you have a nice foundation to build from.  Your overall plan for the drivetrain sounds very cool, too. :2thumbs:

  Welcome, moprr!

VERY nice car!  Great foundation to work with!  I like the slotted wheels!  :grinyes:

Just curious, I saw something that made me go  :clueless: .  Is that rear valence from the factory or was it added on?  That looks like rear valence from a 340 or bigger engined car.  Was that a 340 or something?  :clueless: I didn't think the 318 cars had cutouts in the rear valence.  :dunno:
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

The rear valance was on the car when I bought it,  the car had one repaint and the valance may have been changed (not sure).
