Found: '70 Challenger R/T 440 broadcast sheet
« on: May 07, 2008 - 10:49:59 PM »
So after searching on Barry's site to see if anything had shown up for my VIN (my broadcast sheet was put into several hundred pieces by rodent activity, I keep hoping there was more than one for my car so I don't have to play jigsaw puzzle with it) I decided to check behind the seat backs of my car. I've already checked the rear seat (where all the parts were), the glovebox and under the front seats, but since my front seats were recovered by the PO I hadn't bothered checking behind the backs.

So when I opened them up I found out a couple things...

My seats aren't original to my car (the plastic is green underneath!)  :22yikes:

And they were original to a 1970 Challenger R/T with a 375 hp 440, 4 barrel, FF4 in color, 4 speed manual, 3:54 sure grip, power windows, tachometer, clock, cigar lighter etc, etc etc. This thing had it all!  :faint:

The VIN # is JS23U0B225253

I've got a scan I'll send to Barry, otherwise if you've got this car (lucky dog!) I've got your buildsheet.

I'll take a wild guess, was the car built for Canadian sale?

Did you look inside both front seat backs? If not, you may find another one.....

Nope, USA build code! I did check both seats, unfortunately that's all I came up with. Scan is on the way to you now...

Also, it looks like my door panels and center console also came out of this car (all are green, treated blue over the top)

I have an idea that my car sat for awhile, so these items were likely in bad shape and must have been replaced with the interior of this '70 R/T. Which doesn't bode to well for the R/T, unless one of my car's PO's swapped a blue interior for a green one with a buddy...

Well, since the sheet was in a bucket seat, the seat itself my have left the factory in a /6 car. The buckets seats left the trim shop with the backs on. So the person in charge of bolting the seat in at the main line (line 2 in this case) would have grabbed the closest green bucket seat & bolted it in, regardless of the broadcast sheet inside.  ;)

Nope, the vin number is wrong too.  TX9 is black, mine is triple black (body, vinyl roof and interior)
