Painted.  And it was actually painted first, then masked off and the body color applied.

Yep - painted.  If you want more detail, we discussed this a while back, before I painted mine.

Lots of good folks weighed in on the subject with some very helpful information.  Good luck!

Wow..Tom.....There is a lot of info on that post....Interesting as my car came with the bumble bee stripe and i have the Chrome moulding package A63.  I have all the moulding except the front Valance moulding.  I just sent the rear tail panel out to be redone.  Now...Geeeez..What color should i have it done...Astro?...  Black?...Yellow?

What was original ...can anyone definately confirm it?

Thanks!!!

Astrotone for the tail panel trim. (The astrotone paint is actually mentioned as part of the A63 sales code)

V9X = Black bumble bee stripe.

Use TX9 for the paint code.

On this A66 car i am doing a modest original resto.  Meaning that it will be all original except...340 will be well built, there will be a 6pak (cause I have and extra one), and Headers.

Other than that..for the most part ...it will look original.  I just like the R/T badges as they were on it when i had it in High school.   and that was over 20 yrs ago.

The true T/A I have will be as perfect as i can get it.  so i figured with this car I can have a little fun and make it a better performance car.

Sounds like a good plan, good to see you are making it your own old mate. :2thumbs:

 :iagree:
Sounds like you have a really good plan for your car.

As for the bumblebee stripe, we ended up laying mine out according to the engineering drawing, and basically 'eyeballed it' until it looked right.  Mine looks a lot like the one that Rare_T_A did, actually.  The paint was TX9, as Barry suggested above.

Best of luck to you!
