Hey, I'm ok. Not all the jobs are this hot. The next one is though. Its a delaquer drum at an aluminum plant. It melts cans and stuff you sell for scrap and burns the paint and stuff off of. That shell is 1200 degrees. The job wont be but a week or so long. No robots for this work. I do have other trade skills I could be doing, but I am getting old now and vested in this company. Other jobs are hard to find. The pay is ok, I can just about make what I want to earn. It goes as high as 180k a year, but I'd be worn out to a nub. I like the challenge. Even the plants dont have a clue as to what I do, they just see the results is all. They cant stop these big units. They are the life of the companys. Many make 2 mil a day, so they wont stop. Besides they have to be up and running to fix them. The unit I am on but not after today is 1000 tons and 500 ft long. 3000 degrees inside and 750 outside today. Tomorrow, I spend a couple hrs there checking my work, drop my helper off at the airport and skiddale my but to the house.
Now I have to find the energy to pull my trans and replace the clutch , then reseal the trans, put on some emblems and chrome and stuff, maybe make me a big driveways, and also dig a storm shelter for tornado weather. That is all on my list, besides yard keep and honey do's of course.
I grind all the wheels on the kilns. Easier said then done. For a month I have been 70 ft in the air in a basket with a 3k lb grinding machine I had a crane put it up there for me.
But I whooped it's but.
I think I have enogh in my investments to maybe relax a bit and open my speed shop around the house, and to get chryco to help me run it.
Sorry about the long chat.
