Starter recommendation
« on: May 08, 2008 - 10:38:59 PM »
Anyone have a good recommendation for a high torque starter for a 340 motor?

I'm using the original ring gear and I am having problems with a Powermaster Torquemaster starter I just installed.  The tranny shop that's looking at it says the starter should just bolt up -no spacing needed on a Chrysler application.  The starter head isn't meshing correctly with the ring gear and the tranny shop says spacing wouldn't help.

Have you guys run into this??  Any help is much appreciated.

I never used a Powermaster before, but my Mopar Performance mini starter fit perfectly.  I would do what Chryco said.   :2thumbs:
