440 Source BB StRoker (Steath Heads)

Got this info off another site and it was just off the dyno cause I know alot of people are trying to make ecinomical power these days... I must say I like the numbers... 501 HP and only 32* of timing.....  I know alot of you are considering this so here is your foundation... now fully port these heads.... and add a bigger cam  looks like a real good reliable combo 

Just got back from dyno session with my new engine and have some specs and HP/Torque results for ya.
I will list parts and then dyno numbers.

1974 440 .030 over bore, decked .025 (to incr. compression)
440source 4.150" stroker kit -24cc dish pistons (Piston tops machined .040 to incr. compression)
440source Stealth Heads (Only mods, machined to reach final 10.5:1 compr. and 3 angle job)

Comp Cam #21-000-5, 237 - 237 @ 108 +4 degr., .526 lift

Nice torquey street motor there! It should provide what you are looking for all  day everyday with no fuss no muss and smiles all around! I think I'm going to get a set for me! Those 440source heads are the buy of the decade from what I have been reading and hearing!

Just priced it all out. Considering you already have the 440 motor. You are looking at over $6000 in parts alone. And I didn't account for intake manifold or carburetor assuming people might want something different. Add to that the cost of labor if you need a shop to assemble it for you and you are looking at spending a fairly high amount of money.

It really depends on what you are planning on doing to the short block. A stroker kit from 440source is about $2k, and that would pretty much cover your internals. If you decide to build it out of your own components it could run you more than that or less than that depending on what you want. As for labor I talked to a shop here the other day about my buddies 360 that he is building, and to clean up the block and overbore the cylinders they said $150, to install the crank, rods, pistons, etc $400. Don't know if those prices will transfer to other places though.
