Dropped off my Chally at the company car show....
« on: May 09, 2008 - 12:28:19 PM »
The annual IBM Austin Site car show is today.  The Chally didn't make it last year cuz she was getting a 6-speed installed, but she is there today.  Not much Mopar love at IBM.  3 rows of Corvettes (I used to be one of them).  A couple of rows of Harleys.  Lots of Mustangs and Chevelles.  When I left there were only 3 Mopars there a Chrystler Imperial, a cop Polara and my Challenger.  I got assigned a spot in front of a 454 Chevelle SS, at least it was Viper Yellow.  I'll get some pics up later tonight.

It amazes me how different some areas are with cars.  Here in Michigan . . there are a lot of MOPARS.  When you go to a car show here . . MOPARS are sometime the most prevalent.   :grinyes:  (especially at the all mopar shows)

Here in the Dakotas it's rare to see a Mopar. I know there are plenty around but they just don't show up at cruise nite or at the shows. It is primarilly Chevy and Ford country though.

In Austin, you can't throw a rock without hitting a Corvette.

The show was fun and I got a lot of complements from folks, lots of thumbs up.  Here are some pics.

My car has never been so clean and polished.

I was parked across from this 454 Chevelle.  It won the best in group that I was in.  It was built by a few friends who did it as stress relief.  Now that they have finished this one, they are moving on to a 77 Corvette.

When I pulled up this guy came over immediately and said "Nice to finally see another Mopar in the show"

Its a 440 and nicely done up in the cop stuff.  I saw him put the whole cop detailing on right before the show.  Its all black when he drives around town.

This is the only good shot of the Chrysler Imperial I got

Corvette row could be a show all on its own.

More Pics.

Always liked these.

This one is nice

Unfortunately this guy smoked me coming out of the parking lot.  Guess I need to upgrade that engine.

My wife likes the older model cars, she said she wouldn't kill me if this showed up in the garage.

Here is a shot of the group my car was in.

Whats a car show without the family.  My daughter insisted on providing her own transportation at the show.
