Newbie from Downunder
« on: May 11, 2008 - 08:39:58 AM »
G'day all !!!!
Name is Ken and I'm from Townsville in Nth Qld,Australia. That's up towards the sharp pointy bit at the top.
I'm a civil design draftsman by trade but became a self employed heavy earthmoving contractor some 16yrs ago.
Been a chryslerphile my whole life.
Owning a 1970 bigblock Dodge Challenger has been a lifelong dream which became a reality abt 3 yrs ago.Car was a good one and came from Knoxville,Tennesee.
It's currently undergoing resto and is little more than a painted rolling body with it's chrome and lights fitted but that was enough to take out "Top Panel and Paint" award at our local mopar show 2 weeks ago.
Here's what it currently looks like.

For those interested here is a link detailing it's build history so far on an Aussie mopar site

http://www.moparmarketforum.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=3276

I read on here that A-body cudas are welcome too and I just happen to have one of them too :naughty:

It's a 69 notchback with 8bbl 440/727 and 3.91 rear gear.It came from San Francisco in a very sorry looking state but a quick, cheap makeover has transformed it into a respectable street bruiser.

and a link to another Oz site detailing it's build

http://www.hemi6pack.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6418

Other mopars i have are a 2000 Dodge Ram 4x4 clubcab powered by a blown 360 magnum.

Also a 1967 Valiant ute which would be mostly unfamiliar to US folk. The best way to describe it I guess is Imagine a 1966 barracuda pickup.

Welcome aboard nqkjw from a seppo in Pittsburgh.

It's great having another banana bender join the site and your cars look great! :2thumbs:

I hope you're stoked with this forum. There are lots of Cobbers here to make you feel right at home Digger and lots of good oil with no raw prawns.

Just trying out some aussie lingo I learned. I hope I got it right.
