use the 4 wire , it only charges when the battery or load needs it also has a amm meter wire that can be used , the one wire over charges , yes it has a internal regulater but it dosnt turn on and off like the 4 wire it is JUNK . I can direct you to some viable information if you would like ?  the one wire idea came from the chevy crowd(acdeco1 wire)  then people started modifying alternaters , what a joke .
i wount put any 1 wire alternater on my ride they over charge and eat batteries .
but i guess if ya want 1 (actually2)  wire and internal regulater i guess its good ? :2thumbs:
