I'm installing a new "ready to run mode" distributor in a 73 cuda. The instructions say to "remove the factory resistor and run 12 volts directly to the coil". The new distributor has two wires; one connects to the positive side of the coil and the other connects to the negative side of the coil. The coil is an Accel Super Coil #14001
I'm concerned that this is not good for the coil and might damage it? Do the wiring instructions sound correct?
Also, since I will not be using the factory ignition box, is it easy to disconnect and take it out of the wiring harness system? When I take the ignition box out, will anything else be affected, gauges, charging, etc.?
