MSD WIRING
« on: May 12, 2008 - 10:05:50 PM »
CHRYCO, YOU HAD SAID IN MY PREVIOUS POST THAT THE BROWN & THE BLUE FROM THE HARNESS SHOULD BE TIED TO THE RED SWITCHED WIRE FROM THE MSD. THE WAY THE CAR WAS WIRED BEFORE HAD THE SMALL RED WIRE FROM MSD BOX SPLICED INTO LIKE A 8 OR 10 GAUGE WIRE RUNNING TO POS TERMINAL ON BATTERY  THE BLUE WIRE W/ PLASTIC CONNECTOR & THE DOUBLE BROWN W/ PLASTIC CONNECTOR SEEMED TO BE JUST UN-USED DOES THIS SEEM ****** UP

hooking it to the battery means it is always on & will kill the battery
the blue wire at the ballast is ign run & the brown is ign start , if you do not tap into both the car will either crank & not start or it will start until you release the starter  & quit

just to make sure i am exactly clear, you are talking about the blue&white and the brown two wire should all be spliced together with the smaller red msd  wire and i can lose the wire that now goes to the battery

So if the blue/white and the 2 brown wires are hooked to the small red wire on the MSD box, does the large red wire still get hooked to the battery or is it no longer needed?
