Hood Pins
« on: May 13, 2008 - 05:46:38 AM »
:dunno: Ok, I need your help.  I am installing hood pins on my 71 challenger.  Since the front edge of the hood is angled outward to a point in the middle, I need to know how the hole patterns of the bezels ( plate installed to the hood) line up on the hood.  Are they to be turned so that they line of with the front edge of the hood?  Or,,,,Do you install them as if you snapped a line across the hood from left to right and line the hole patterns up with each other?  Hopefully this makes sense??? Thanks for your help!!!

I did it the first way. I believe that was the correct way from the factory, but I went that way because I thought it looked better.

Stroker, I have the pin holes drilled.  It is the chrome plates with the 4 mounting holes that I need help with.  What I do not know is how they are aligned?  In other words, are the holes aligned with the front edge (remember, the front edge of the hood is slightly v shaped) of the hood or are they aligned with the holes on the other chrome plate on the other corner (as if you stretched a string across the hood and lined the holes on each plate to the other plate?  make sense????  Thanks for your help? Mike,

what's that little thing on your fender, underneath the tapeline between 3-4?

Looks like a watersprayer for the windshield. If so then it's damn far out in the front.

My car came with turn signal indicators on the front fenders. Instead of being chrome, they are painted body color.
