Correct 1970 1971 Challenger Side Marker Light Bezels

I've seen some that are chrome with a small black accent line, others without. What is correct?

Did you know that the 70 taillight Chrome has paint around it too. Not sure about the side markers.

I can't remember the markers on my 70 ever having a black accent around it.

Russ,

Going thru the cobwebs of my mind, I can tell you this is a moldy-oldy question here. I have after-market bezels with the black stripe. The debate continued in the past, but there wasn't a clear answer. I have to believe there was no black stripe from the factory, but I went with it anyway.  :grinyes:

I have no answer , I have seen them both ways , not sure if it is a 70/71 difference & which would be right if it is or if it was an R/T vs non R/T  :dunno:

If I recall correctly, the 70's had the black out and the 71's did not.  For the most part, the black faded and pretty much disappeared after a few years of  sun exposure, car washings, and waxings.

That very well could be the case. Glad I put a "I can't remember" in my post. The marker housing plating is pretty slick. A painted finish could be easily removed in a detailing or restore job. :2cents:
