New engine wire harness

I had just bought a engine wire harness form Evans wiring for a 340 and on the alt. there is a green wire which I know goes to the regulator, the black which goes to the battery, and a double wire (dark blue and  lt.blue). I know the dark blue also goes to the regulator but the lighter blue comes out of the harness about where the carb is. It is circled in yellow. The is also a brown wire that is also hanging loose, also circled in yellow. Where do these go? See attachment

The brown wire is for the windshield washer motor and the lighter blue is for the carburator solenoid.

You may not need these if you have a two speed wiper motor and/or conventional choke.

So the brown wire is a ground?
I do have a electric chock on my car but the instructions say not to hook it up to the alt.

My mistake. I thought you had the single separate brown line. Ok, the brown wire coming from position 22 makes it to the ballast resistor and the brown wire continues through that connector to the (+) side of the coil.

If I'm running a MSD setup, I wouldn't need that brown wire then, correct?

You have me on that one. I'm not familiar with the MSD setup.

You shouldnt. It alreadt goes past the ballast to start :2thumbs:

They are already splice together for the MSD. This brown wire is seperate from the two that go to the ballast.
Any idea about the blue wire?

Without looking at a wiring diagram, it sounds like the carburator solenoid wire.

most new harnesses I have seen have had a 12v lead by the carb for electric choke
