:22yikes: I may as well be looking at Calculous right now b/c that is the most confusing thing ive ever read. All i know is my vacuum advance is hooked up to the driver side of my Edelbrock carb. Just meet me at Carlisle and show me.....

Looking at the front of the carb Wally there are three vacuum ports. Big fat one in the middle, one on the left of that, one on the right. The lowest port will be full manifold vacuum. That should be plugged. The highest port will be 'ported' vacuum and that should be used, routed to your distributor. Of the top of my head Wally the ported should be the passenger side, full manifold should be the drivers side. So use the passenger side.

The only difference between the two is that one does not show a vacuum signal at low rpm (ported) and the other does (full manifold vacuum). You use ported so that your ignition isn't trying to advance too far sitting at idle.

Hope that makes sense  :sly:

if the dist is connected to the drivers side port you are on the wrong port , the engine will run poorly & have bad power & milage this way , connect to the passenger side or leave it disconnected totally & reset the timing

Hey, another question, is there a ratio chart when changing primary and secondary jets? kinda like the metering rod to jet chart? i have it at home, and havent looked yet, just curious..... Ive also only changed the jets at the metering rods... how much deeper are the other jets?  :working:

much harder with the AFB carbs but generally if you need to enrich the primarys by 3% increase the secondaries by the same % , Eddy AFBs are Always too lean out of the box , I have no idea why they do this but being slightly rich would be far safer

not really , just pull the steel seperater plate out of the way & use a standard screwdriver to thread them in & out

Thanks again Chryco, so what would i adjust my vacuum pod to? basically, you're saying 36-38, does that mean i should only have 3-4 degrees of advancing?
