I have a 73 Challenger. It is a 318 car. I was going to restore it as a daily. I even listed it for sale here at one time. I have a situation where I need to raise some cash. I have to make a straight dollar decision on it. With the way the market is I feel I will get more out of the car in parts. I hate to part it. It is repairable and I can fix it. It does need a lot of metal work. Again this has to be a question of which way brings in the most cash. I can stretch it out over 3 months so the time factor is not an issue on parting the car. I have figured out based on current prices what it is worth in parts. Now I want to figure out what it is worth whole and I will go from there. I just got a complete header panel that needs bolted in. I also have the front valance. I can re spray it in black, which is the original color, to give it a better appearance. So keep those two things in mind on the car. It will look better if I market it. I don't see a need to do these things if I am going to part the car.
It needs all floors. It needs a trunk floor. It needs complete quarters, and outer wheel houses. The inner fenders are gone around the hinges. The front fenders aren't to bad, they have a little rust. The hood is scaly but salvageable. The trunk lid is good. The roof has pits of rust in it; none are through but some are 50% through. The cowl has some rust by the booster. The inner cowl is gone above the drivers floor. All cowl parts are repairable. The rockers need work. One trunk drip rail is bad. The doors are gone. I have 2 replacements. The original seats were stolen. It now has 1970 seats. The interior panels are salvageable. The rest of the interior needs done. It is a factory black/black a/c car with disc brakes, sway bar and 355 sure grip.
What is it worth?
Thanks,
Tod
PS. I am Challenger6pak. I am waiting for Ross to reset my password which was lost in a computer crash.
