Have you made a decision on this speaker yet?  Would appreciate any feedback.  I have a Cuda, not sure if the speaker locations are the same as the Challenger?

Yes, Cuda's have the same speakers.

No problem.  I know what you mean by priorities.  The pitch they make for these speakers sounds good, but of course they are not going to say anything other than good things about something they have for sell!     :grinyes:

The originals were pretty poor in quality. To get a decent 3" speaker in there, you will have to hack away some at the dash frame since the magnet will be larger.

Solution to this is quite simple, follow "The Wired Approach" to minimize equipment ..... Back in the dark age's (the '70's) we did this all the time. ...........Or get an amp that will combine for mono.

Best compromise is to put tweeters in the dash. Plenty of room for those and they will probably provide nice highs coming at you off the windshield, not nearly as bright or harsh as tweets mounted at the top of the a-pillar on the windshield.

So I finally spent some cash and ebayed the dual voice coil 4x10 speaker I was talking about. Surprisingly, this thing sounds pretty good. I am running a deck powered 4x50watt Pioneer Premier head unit and this is just what I needed. No dash seperation as expected, but it fills in the mids and highs very nice. For $50 stereo sound, you can't go wrong. Hope this helps someone else in my situation (wanting a hidden somewhat loud, quality sounding stereo). As for the install, the grill just needed some minor filing to sit perfectly. BTW I have 3 way Polk Audio 6x9s in the rear deck.

Carlwalski,

The Lanzar speakers come in the standard size (2.798" depth) and the slim size (1.5" deep).  Which do you have?  I could not see the pictures you posted, as the post was too old.  Hopefully either will fit as the 3 way speakers are only offered in the standard size.

A bloke on FABO makes what you want.
Bolt in with no butchering of original parts.
I bought one for an Abody I'm currently doing.
I'd have bought one for my challenger if I was aware of them at the time but I aint pulling the dash apart to fit one now!!!
You could make one yourself but they are cheap enough you wouldn't bother.
