Mancini Racing: Tubular K-Frames?

Has anyone used them? Any reports/feedback on these? They don't look too bad, price is fair. I have to get a new one for Madeline so am just sniffing around for good quality tubular k-frames. I'm only after less weight, not big on rack and pinion, much of a muchness to me. Just be good to shred even more weight up front. Last but not least, do the tubular frames offer the same strength as the bulky factory ks? They look so fragile, with close to 700hp, it's something I have to consider. Feel free to pitch in with any other, k-frame only, vendors.......

you need to check out CAP products , Tubular K frame & it retains the T bars as well

If you look at the pic on the mancini website, it looks like mancini is selling the CAP stuff. It looks the same

I was in Macinis today , they are the CAP product , great looking piece , the price is decent as well

Thanks for the confirmation Neil. I just have to call and see what power they can take, clearance issues (or lack of) and to see if they have mounts to suit the frame for KB alloy blocks. Sounds good thus far. I'll let you guys know for future reference.

the guys designing them are engineers , they seem to have stock or better clearances & would take the Schumaker mount system for the hemi blocks

You're a life savior Neil......saved me phone bill a bit now with less questions lol. I'm not "sure" of Schumacher (50/50), from what I have read/heard. Using a stock K-Frame the Schu-mounts require a KB oil pump to clear and Tim said it will be OK but it may not clear and require other engine pieces to make it fit/work, not good when he has spent time using the parts he thinks are best to fit and work the best. Though, with the CAP frame they may have that room needed to clear. Will call tomorrow.

Tims / FBO hemi dropped right into the Chall I did last spring for Dray
I don`t recall that he had an external poick up though , does yours ?

I may be wrong here , the K frame takes the wedge style sandwich mount but may not use the cross pin , more like the A body mount

Are the alloy tubes on top of the throttle bodies spacers for the shaker adapter ?

Looks like Tim at FHO did use the pan shown in the dyno pictures, and not the flat drag style pan originally shown in a previous thread. I thin k all the tubular K frames out there allow for more pan clearance.

Thanks for the heads and in put, much appreciated. I'm just going with what Tim uses on his engines, he's that good, I trust everything he does. I checked my parts list and here is the part number for the sump: MIL31160 Hemi Competition Oil Pan and a MIL21000 Single Line Hemi Static System.

I love the custom flat black billet pulleys and brackets. Now you need to remove those MSD stickers on the coil. Are the MSD coil have a regular body instead of the obvious ribs they used to? Gotta keep that understated stock look.

Thanks guys, that engine is far from finished. I have bungs and black rubber hoses Tim supplied to cover the EFI stuff once we have it dialed in and have checked for air leaks. The decal on the coil will go to, looks too poos lol. Tim said this is the first build he has done where a customer has wanted a big alloy EFI 540 to appear stock. He said he has had a lot of comments on my build and plans to build more in the future from the feedback he got. Once the Shaker is on 80%+ of people won't know what size engine it is and if its stock or not.

We'll also be using black braided hose and adapter ends to keep stock. Basically, what can be painted black that isn't a major feature will be. All I want is to open the hood and see HEMI. All the wiring will be in the inner fenders, the wiper motor will be covered over with sheet metal to hide it, hard to describe but it will look nice once complete, all holes that aren't used filled prior to paint, battery in trunk, hydroboost system, etc. All these items will leave more room for the Hemi to shine.
