I just wish they had really used a 70 and not a 73 or whatever year had the big bumper guards.

:iagree: that is definately not a 70. you can see the grill sticking out. nothing wrong with the 72 - 74 challengers, but the 08 was modled after the 70  :poopoke:

Good call, I didn't even look, I just looked at the overall photo. That's pretty bad. Not as bad as the Detroit Auto Show on ESPN I saw 3-4 days ago. They had the 08 Challenger review, all about the car etc. The showed a few Challengers then they started talking about prices and said an original will set you back "this" much and when they said that they showed a 2nd Gen Charger LOL Idiots.......

It's a '74.  That photo is my wallpaper at work, minus the numbers in the background.

They should have used a classic Challenger that EXACTLY resembles the new one next to it:

- 70' model

- No vinyl top

- Quick filler gas cap

- black rear spoiler

- no bumber quards

...but the overall idea is nice.

It does show the relative "chunkiness" of the new Challenger compared to the considerably more svelte E-body car.

They shouldn't compare the two side by side.  I truly shows how less attractive the new one is against the old.

I've now seen a few magazines who have the same photo but changed it to 1974.  :swaying:

:iagree:  Chunky is a good word to describe the new Challenger.  Nice car, but chunky.  Our older cars looks soooo "sexy" next to a new one, just love the curves and the body line.  :grinyes:

Agreed...chunky!  And the wheels are too distracting.  Way too big.  They should compliment the car not overwhelm it.  Guess I'm old school.   :)
