We drove dowtown and planning to go to the Wildhorse Saloon.   However it was raining pretty hard and it was about a 3-4 block walk.  So we decided to drive around and see if the rain would let up.....which it did not.  :banghead:

So on the way back to the hotel we decided to go back to the Grand Ole Opry Musuem.  It was already closed... :smilielol: But it gave us a chance for a good pic. :picture:

carcrazyguy,

That Oprey land Hotel is a city unto itself. I swear, that place is so beautiful.  :grinyes: I checked into getting a room there. The prices aren't as bad as you would think, but the waiting list is Looong.  :pullinghair:

Did you happen to visit Tootsie's lavender lounge?? I saw it in one of your pics. I'll admit I had to be pulled into that place, since I assumed it was a gay bar.  :eek7:  It turned out to be the most happen place on the strip. It was packed at 11 AM.  :screwy:  Of course I had just run a half-marathon, so I was thirsty on my way back to my Hotel.

Nope, didn't go in.  In fact I don't recall seeing the sign even?  :dunno: I was stopped at the light and snapped a pic for our next trip.  Which we are already planning!!  Next time we are going to the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Grand Ole Opry and do the General Jackson River Boat while we are in Nashville.  We truely had a blast in Tennesse!!   :2thumbs: Although I think I left half my life savings there as well.  :grinyes:

As for the Opryland Hotel, we checked on the prices before we left.  It was a holiday weekend and the prices I think were over $200 a night.  We stayed basically across the street for less than $70!  In fact the Opryland Hotel charged $16.00 just to park on their lot.   :grinno:  We parked at the Opry Mills mall and walked through the garden path over to the hotel.  It was cloudy when we got out of the car.  As soon as we started walking it started pouring down rain!! We stopped under a small cover and waited about 15 minutes and it never let up so we decided to GO FOR IT!!  Yeah, we got soaked!!  :smilielol:   We walked in and all these $$$ people were looking at my wife and I like we just dropped off a spaceship or something.  As we walked by some people I pointed at the water by the boat ride and said, "Man that water was not bad, a little deep though!!"   :smilielol: :smilielol:

When we go back we are planning to walk the downtown area.  We ate some HUGE meals while we were in Tennesse and still lost 3 lbs in the 6 days!!  Of course this might not help with the diet.............

Nashville is a good time.  You have to have fun in the music city!  Mike do you run that marathon every year?  If so Im pisst because you never hit me up!  But if your planning on running it again you can kick it at my place and not have to worry about a room somewhere.  Unless you want to be that close to the action!
