70 Cuda Wanted
« on: May 29, 2008 - 01:53:12 PM »
Hi Folks,

One of my customers has asked me to find him a 1970 Cuda similar to the one he had in high school and I'm not having much luck.  He's not picky regarding color, drivetrain, options, etc. but his original car was a white with red interior 383 4-speed car.  This car needs to be a high quality driver, not a $250K hemi car and not a $5k project car.  I'd prefer a big block 4-speed car but will consider others depending on quality and I'm not opposed to a well done clone.  What I DON'T want is a rusty car where someone has bought every piece of reproduction sheetmetal available, thrown it together and slapped a thick clearcoat paint job on it just to try and make the big bucks at Barrett-Jackson.  (I'l be glad to elaborate on this offline....)  No junk please...  I have a very reasonable budget waiting for a quality car.

Something in the southeast US would be a plus due to my location.

Thanks,
Deron Shady
Huntsville, AL

Cool!  Down around Cullman?  Know of any good Cudas down in your neck of the woods?  I've hit up all of the guys that I know here in Huntsvegas who fool with these cars and haven't found anything but project cars.    :pullinghair:

Yup, you're not too far from me.  So is your car for sale?  If it is, I might just make a road trip down there this weekend to check it out.   :burnout:

Thanks,
Deron

I don't think so.   No need to make a special trip here for that.  I had at one time considered selling it to onebadfish cause he had been searching for a solid car for what seemed like an eternity. Thank god he found one.  It is tough to find rust free cars now adays that still have the original panels on them. You ever seen an M46 code barracuda complete?  Some like them and some don't. I just couldn't up and sell it. It would take some deep pockets or something more interesting for me.

There are a lot of great cars forsale on here often.  Now I could get you a big block challenger 90% or better rust free. But it is a 74 and new everything. Around 16k though. It's in montgomery.

Not that I can see. He may of wanted to try to find someone closer like me for opening up my mouth. But mine is not forsale. And he may be busy right now and might respond this evening. If not, then maybe a new UT has arrived :poopoke:

seems shady automotive does indeed exist and work on cars http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=467814  if hes a car customizer or a body man you have to remember that those guys measure time differently than normal humans.  1 day to a resto guy is a week to the rest of us sort of like dog years.

That's pretty funny.   :smilielol:  I wish I could get my customers to understand that!  Seems that most folks have watched too many episodes of Overhaulin'!

Yes I really do exist, although I never thought to Google myself to verify it.....   Finally got in touch with Bart after some email and phone tag, and his car seems like a great car.  Now all I have to do is sell my customer on a purple car.

Moparal, I didn't mean to pester you about your car either.  I just figured that since you mentioned it in a "car wanted" thread........well, you know.....  If you ever get up my way, stop in and see me.  Shoot me a PM and I'll give you directions.

Thanks,
Deron
