New guy here
« on: May 30, 2008 - 12:22:11 AM »
Hello to you all......
I have purchased a '72 challenger that the restoration has been started.
I found this site and have been reading many threads and boy ..... there is a wealth of great info here, you guys seem to really know your stuff on these cars..........
anyway, the Challenger was a 318 car and has since been converted to a 440 , it's in primer right now but I will be putting it on a rotisserie and doing a total resto.
Engine was supposively rebuilt 5k miles ago bored .30 over, 5 angle valve job, 509 purple shaft, weind G team intake. 750 Holly, 727 trans with 3000 stall converter and a 323 posi rear end.
I'm sure I'll have quite a few questions as I proceed with this project but for now I just proud to finally own a REAL muscle car   :grinyes:

Welcome!  Looks like you have a pretty nice project there.  How much metal work needs to be done?  It looks pretty straight and clean in the pics.  Oh, and where are you?

thanks for the warm welcome hemiken..

I'm thinking Hemi Orange, the guy I bought it from already purchased a ralley hood along with the black hood vinyl, as a matter of fact he had purchased alot of new parts for the car including front and rear suspension, head liner, mopar valve covers , screw kit for the interior and extreior trim, the wheels and tires are brand new , in other words he already had invested alot into it

Thanks Greg's HO

Not much metal work needed , he had it in primer however it is rattle can primer and I had planned to use 2k with bc/cc paint. I have ordered subframe cionnectors for it and will go over the car with a fine tooth comb. I can only see a very small amount of filler around the driver side rear marker other that that it's good.

BTW.... I'm in Texas 25 miles N. of Houston
