Anyone else get the itch to tear up a pair of tires? lol
« on: May 30, 2008 - 10:58:05 PM »
Been kinda watching craigslist for some cheapo mustang/camaro/etc wheels with some decent tread tires. See them every once in awhile for $20 or so. Just to get and tear up the tires.  Can't afford to smoke out my $200ea Nitto rear tires, I sure would like to though. I get this way every once in awhile like i do when i need to just tear on the fish some. Either some good donuts and a burnout..or take it to the track.

Was looking at pictures from my last outing. Speedo was clockin 90mph  :icon16:

Nice photo, Goody! :2thumbs:  I wouldn't mind laying some rubber every so often, but I'm awd and it'd be quite expensive to be spinning/squealing my Z-rated tires @$220/each.

I've been having the urge to burn 'em off too. There's a car show coming up pretty soon that always has a burnout contest afterwards. I think I'll look for a pair of sacrificial tires so I can let off some steam. :burnout:

When I had my dradg radials mounted I kept the old BFG`s as they still have some tread life left-at least enough for a few nice long burnouts.I just need to find another set of 15x8`s to mount `em up and a place to have some fun where nobody will bother me.And yes I`ll bring a friend to get pics!

When I first bought the Cuda it came with some brick hard no name radials. Although the tires sucked the car was a blast to drive. It was priceless to see the look on the passengers face when I lit the tires up rolling from 45-50mph!! Needless to say that just before I mounted up the M/T Drag radials I incenerated the old tires. Lots of fun!!!

For some reason I had $220 in my mind that day.  They're actually around $130 a tire, which can still be costly when you're replacing all four.

Burn outs can be alot of fun, however the last time I did a decent burnout I torched the tyres and the burning rubber ate into my fresh mirror paint job on the quarters and rear doors both sides, expensive...   :banghead:
