Turn signal switch whats the difference?
« on: May 31, 2008 - 10:04:16 AM »
On Year One's web site I see 2 switches for the 71-74 e-body cars. One is for 123 bucks. One is 70 bucks. What is the big difference besides one is a Chrysler? Is it a better switch? Or just cost more?

I need a new turn signal switch. :pullinghair:

one may be for the tilt wheel models, I see different parts listed for those.....
here's a non-tilt switch for $11.00 at Advance Auto.

Thats just the one part of the switch. They burn up in the other part. I need the whole switch down to the connector. Like this one. http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/part.asp?pid=FD93102&c=0&e=0&cat=1&hid=112AA4832&trk=

I wish it was that simple, sure would be nice.

Be careful what you buy and ask a lot of questions. When I bought a replacement for my car the guy swore it was for a '70. After getting home I noticed that the plug was totally different. My car's was white and the replacement was blue BUT whether the color has anything to do with it I don't know. The bottom line is it didn't match up or plug into my exsisting harness. I ended up just fixing my 38 year old original.

:iagree: The flasher part alone is $3.00 at Autozone, not the $15.00 BS from Year One.

Neil, you know the number for the non tilt '70 turn signal switch?  From what I understand it's unique to '70.  :dunno:

the hazzard button is a different shape & slightly smaller otherwise the TW7 works , you will either need to open the slot in the column slightly or trim down the button , I would do the latter

Got the new switch (TW7) installed this weekend. Woo-Hoo I got brake lights again!

BTW whats the extra connector for? It doesn't seem to need to be hooked up to anything?

The switch is a repop of the '72 C body switch with cornering lights, that connector is for the cornering lights and are not used on A, B and E bodys.
