I think you can if you have the build sheet.

with a build sheet a proper fender tag can be made for the car , there are unscrupulous companies that will make a fender tag anyway with the option you want on it but these are generally very easy to spot as fake

And some of us are quite glad to spot the fakes and let everyone know.

If you have a broadcast sheet or other original paperwork with all the proper information, 100% accurate reproductions are possible.

If no paper work exists, then a custom tag might be the way to go? Something like;

    Reward for original
+       fender tag or         +
broadcast sheet for this car
Please call (your number)
        (your VIN)

My friend that painted my car has asked me today where he could get a correct vin tag made for his 68 charger R/T . It was missing the engine, but I gave hime a complete 68 440 for his car to help him out.

He has the vin tag, the fender tag and the build sheet.  He has checked all the numbers and compared everything and it isnt like 69 and up but he said that the production numbers or whatever it is for a 68 is on the body as well as the other stuff like build sheet and fender tag. So the car is correct in every way. I saw the fender tag today. It is rusted up with holes in it, but you can see a lot of the matching stuff from the builsd sheet, but the tag is too far gone for him to install on the car when it is finished.

So he asked me these questions
Can he get one made correct and legal since he has everything
He is always on a budget so he asked how much
And he asked how long would it take

I told him I would post it here and maybe Barry could point us in a direction. He said if he couldnt get a duplicate or if it was costly, he would live without it since he doesn't care about resale and no original engine. He said it would be nice to have if he could get one made if the price was right.

Al,
For a rusted but readable fender tag and / or a car with a broadcast sheet, go to the same link I posted above.

Very good. I was hoping it might be a trusting place. He has everything just the tag is rusty.  Thanks Barry....The darn mail didnt run today because of a holiday.... Seems road blocks hit me hard this last 30 days. But your stuff is coming to you....ALAN
