In most cases, nower days, the high rise dual plane is allmost impossible to beat on the street. The single plane intake shold be left alone for racing. The high rise dual plane has more torque down low and gives nothing up on high rpm's to the single plane intakes.
Edel.'s RPM, ethier style, Weiand Stealth, etc......
Low rise dual planes should be left on the shelf for most high performance street rides. The Weiand Action plus is an exception to the rule in the way they (Weiand) advertise it. As a replacement of sorts. The performer can really wake up a 318 and smaller engine well, but is not much better than a OE iron intake on the larger mills. 340 and up.
For a single plane intake, I like the Mopar M-1 with a T-Q on top. Learning the way to tune a T-Q will throw most people a curve and the difficulty will have a different carb on top quick for many. I noticed Steve D. of MoparMuscle mag seems to like them. I remember he tuned on up and made more power than a Holley and a dual plane on a Big Block. Thought that was interesting.
