Can an engine run tooo cool?

I'll check the guage, but from the factory guage never going up past the first two lines, only when it got to 170ish it went past them a little.  And the new aftermarket guage seemingly go up and then down when cruising and stopping I think its good.

I'll toss a 180 stat inworst case I got to put it back in(160).

sounds like a bad guage.

BTW IDK if I've EVER seen you make a positive post?

  Looks like your cooling system is in good shape, just put  180* thermostat in. 
  Running a restrictor may cause you problems on very hot days, especially if under hard driving, thermostat is the way to go.
