What hooks to the brake pedal??
« on: June 03, 2008 - 07:04:08 PM »
When I bought my cuda it was missing the master cylinder. After I pulled the dash I don't see any linkages that goes to the M.C. Anybody got a pic of what I need. Once I find out what's missing I will post in the wanted section for the parts.
Thanks
Robert

Here's a pic of what I have.

If you have power brakes, it looks like you're missing the lever and push-rod assembly.  These pieces bolt in between those two big braces under the dash and are extremely awkward to get in or out (unless I don't know how to do it the right way).  My only experience has been with power brakes so I can't say what you need for standard brakes.  I wonder if a lot of these pieces are shared by other Mopars--Chryco could tell you.

Sorry guys. it's a manual setup w/ front disc brakes. All that's there is a pedal with a hole and a small bolt pattern for the master cylinder.

Also the brake lines are a mess. Is there a proportional valve somewhere. I cannot find one.

MP sells new adjustable ones or You can hit the Pick-A-Part.  Yes ther should be some sort of distribution block below the M/C area.  Some of the vendors have the prop valve and lines too.  Fine Lines etc. :2thumbs:

I often use a Tee to the front brake lines & an adjustable proportioning valve to the rear brakes , the only down side is the lack of brake warning light , but the adjustment can be fine tuned

That combo was not available from the factory in '70.
