It was built close to my house. I had asked a question and the guy had joined the site and jumped all over me for asking a question. His friend posts here once in a while, but he hasnt been on since that episode. It was in our local paper and my dad had asked a question. I posted it and the guy said something wierd in response. I wasnt trying or even thinking about starting an arguement, It just got flared up by the original owner. I think it was something about the price of the car , I really can't remember. I don't normally keep negative thoughts in my mind. It festers up anger that way

Nice car tho

i personally love the car!
as an example of extreme modification in terms of performance it is the ultimate.

there are things on it that i don't like, i (personal preference of course) wouldn't have messed with the
shape of the roof (the roof was chopped and moved back, and the front and rear screens were laid flatter).
when combined with the front wheel wells that were moved forward and up the look from the side is a little too wedge shaped i think.

but who can argue with an 870hp all aluminium hemi cuda with full tube frame, setback engine, 6 speed transaxle, carbon fibre front end, titanium disc brakes...   etc etc
i love the fact that they added upper fender vents to allow free wheel travel at 200+mph! (no pressure build up in the fender well)

i would love to see what it could do on the 'top gear' test track with the stig at the wheel.  perfect weight distribution, 2800lbs, 870hp (+300 nos!), corvette suspension...

you american guys familiar with that program (top gear)?

Give it to Tiff Needle (5th Gear), who I personally believe IS the Stig. Tiff's the man.

Top Gear will probably fill it with water, set it on fire or redecorate the interior like a house..... :P

yes it is..for all the uninformed opinionated geeks on this site that spend hours upon hours on chat rooms spouting their jealous rantings...I don't think your opinion counts for anything.  For everyones information, the new owner paid $588,500.00 for the Cuda.  He would have gone to $1,500,000.00 for it. Unfortunately Hemi E bodies and Big Block Mid Year Vettes were all in the tank and the other buyers that would have bid big on the Cuda were licking their respective wounds, so there was no one to push him.  Moparal..if you want me to take you seriously, don't tell me you're having to discuss this with your daddy.  If you would take a little time and review the build pix of the Cuda, I think maybe even you could understand why it is stable at speeds greater than 200mph.  70B@rracuda..the ugly car you refer to won the Street Machine of the Year, Chip Foose Pick, Boyd's Pick, Shades of the Past Car of the Year, Chrysler Design Award @ SEMA just to name a few.  The people you refer to (that don't like the Cuda)  post and peruse these sites constantly are the jealous types that drive Escorts and knock what others have done.  For you to say you're glad I lost my azz, what kind of statement is that.  You don't know me. You need to look at the Cuda in person and then voice your opinion.   Black Cuda..I didn't build the Cuda for an investment...if you had half a brain, you'd not speak about something you don't know about.  Old School who drives a green 60's Barracuda with a cheesy hemi scoop, out of style wheels, and what looks like a pro stock rear..Am I supposed to take advice and criticism from you...get real...

speaking of king sized mouths...I'd just love to see you in person, your house, your car, your girlfriend (in your case probably boyfriend) and see just how smart your liberal arts educated as* is.  It's unbelievable how big some of you geeks sound by hiding behind a keyboard.  I have more than enough mentality to make enough money to build what I want when I want and sell it when I want.  When you win anything in your life but A hole of the year, call me and let me know.  What is your name.  I'd like to google in on it and see how many things pop up with your accomplishments.  If someone has a 68 A Body, they shouldn't be poking fun at a SMOTY 71 Cuda, nor should you with your Kia or whatever your ride is.  You don't have a clue what Foose conceptualizes anyway.  I guess people on here should listen to you instead of Foose, Boyd, Bobby Alloway, Kyle Tucker etc.

I don't consider it simple criticism when someone says they're glad you lost your azz on something.  No one here but me took offense to that crass comment.  When you see a person using big words on these sites they usually have the same M O.  I'm not mad at the world.  I am mad at anyone who criticizes something he has never seen.  especially when I look at his car and it has big old bumpers with guards hanging on them, 1970's 15" wheels that are ugly as sin, tires and wheels sticking out of the wheelwells, rear end jacked up like a 4 wheeler.  And he wants to tell me where to go and how my car is ugly.  I don't like the comments I've heard on this site.  You'll get no free criticism of me. Maybe there are some good guys on this site.  You sound like a decent guy.  I asked Paul Atkins if he knew who you were and he knows who you are but doesn't know you.  You guys have a funny way of welcoming a newbie.  it's not my shop, it's Alan Johnsons.  He's on Meighan Boulevard just east of Gadsden.  Go by there..You will definately learn something..Nothing backyard about his work and finished product.

Here is all 4 of this guys posts... the last one someone edited out so there was nothing to post.

Well, to be fair, he was responding to other peoples posts that were incredibly rude for no good reason except for the fact that they didn't like the car.

On another forum (which is very much about hot rodding) he seems to get along with everyone and generally seems to have a good attitude.

The car isn't quite my cup of tea, but I don't fault the guy for making it and I sure don't hope he loses(lost) money on it.

I bought two of the Hot Wheels models. The first one I saw in orange, the other I saw in silver and had to have the silver.

Will, to be honest I think things were taken out of way context and he joined and gave the members a piece of his mind.  It happens.  But he just kept going on and on.  I dont think (I hope not) that anyone here wanted him to loose money on his car, some gave their opinion on what they thought it was worth and he didnt like it.  And once again he just laid it out there.  I mean the circumstances just dictated his attitude.  Its too bad he would have most likley made a good member here.

Like the saying goes there is two sides to every story. I guess I should do a search and read the entire post, however it strikes me odd that he would go on a tyrade against some members here that seem to be very good people and stand up members of this site.

I have read and responded to posts by him on another forum for years, and had been following that build before I was a member here.  I am a bit surprised by what he wrote here. IMHO he always seemed like a likeable guy on the other forum.  Maybe a bit outspoken and slightly opinionated, but genuinely decent and a real car guy.  It is really too bad we all got off on the wrong foot here as I think he could have been a valuable member here. :2cents:

BTW, whether you hate it or love it, if you got a close up view of the craftsmanship in that car I think you would be impressed.

Well put, Don.  :grinyes:

I haven't read that post lately but from what I remember there was a lot of criticism of that car and I can't blame him for being upset.  But at the same time, one can put forth an opinion or defense of ones work and still be a little more controlled.  It was kind of an out of character thread I think for this site and I'm sure the guy who made that car is a nice guy.  Everybody has their moments...  :dunno:

Here is the 4th comment he made:
Quote
You pride yourself with courtesy on this board.  What kind of statement is that.  Before i chimed in, one of your courteous members said he was glad I lost my AZZ on my car.  Another said I had half a brain. And on and on.  Go over to Pro-Touring .com and see how the guys there see your comments.  They are just as outspoken about you as you are of me.  They had to shut down the thread because everyone was so outspoken against this site and it's haters.   Don't any one of you think I'm hiding behind this keyboard.  Just approach me at the many shows I will be, and bring your car and I will be glad to swap slurs with you. I could maybe understand the bashing if you were purist and you didn't want anyone to alter a Cuda..Yes my car was a Cuda, but only a 340 one.  But most of the cars I see pix of on here are jacked all up with imitation centerline of somekind of offbrand wrong offset wheels and just don't have a look at all.  One of you said it was OK for Poteet to spend a bundle on his Barracuda since he was a Mopar Fan.  I know George Poteet better than anyone on this site.  I have bought and sold cars with him for years.  He like most TRUE car guys aren't queer for one brand.  He likes all cars that are cool...whether it be stock, hot rods, Muscle cars, etc..anything but a pure trailer queen.  Truth be known, he is really a Ford man.  They've already shut down the Protouring site about you guys, go to Musclerides .com and spout your venom and see what you get.  BTW college boy, get to your classes and quit popping off at someone who was building and driving cars when you weren't even a glint in your fathers eyes.  As far as me shooting myself in the foot on this site...I have but one thing to say...Death where is thy sting...if you guys don't have anything better to do, go bash Trump on his combover if you really want to get scathed.
