Indy 426" New Legend Hemi - are they any good?
« on: June 04, 2008 - 06:21:00 PM »
Hey all, it's been a while since i've been able to get on here so first off i'd like to say Hi! to everyone again.

As the topic suggests, i'm wondering if anyone has the low down on these new 6.1l based hemi's Indy is selling now. Specifically, are they a good engine and are they reliable?

cheers

Well, if you buy one for me, I'll try it out and let you know if it's any good. :smilielol:
Sorry. Guess I'm not much help.

That leads to an additional question... if I were to outlay the mega dollars they want for the engine, what service would I get if we put it in and there is a problem? Anyone bought an engine from them before and had a problem with it?

I'm in Australia so I fear that if there were a problem, it'll be too easy for them just to shrug me off.

1> The idea sounds cool, and they look great.
2> They cost a lot, IMO anyway.
3> The same quality machining goes into it as thier other stuff.
4> #3 is very sarcastic. I wouldnt have them change  a plug on a Lawn Boy.
5> There is no service after the sale.
6> I have never seen an engine they built as a Crate style ever make the advertised power, or the power indicated on the enclosed dyno sheet. Ever. On several dynos.

It's up to you really, I wouldnt use them. Buy their parts, but have a shop that knows how to machine do the work.
