    I think yellow on a challenger convertible is a horrible thing to do to a beautiful red car.  :swear: :swear:

    Thanks for the pictures of the car in yellow.  :2thumbs: I think it's going to be OK. Charlene still isn't convinced. Oh well, she'll have to learn to like it. I'm not going to paint it again.
    Hope to have some more update pictures this weekend.
    The car is off of the rotisserie and sitting on all four wheels again. I hope to have all of the sheet metal back on it by Saturday. Things are moving along pretty nice. I would be a little further along but I had a minor set back. My air compressors motor burned up last night. I can't complain. The old motor is about 20 years old. I found a replacement at the local Grainger outlet store and got it back up and running tonight. Later, Jay

    Looks great! I just got my seats recovered and went back with the original black, but wish I had changed to white.  I am remembering how hot it was driving with the black interior.  I went back to Y1 and I realy like the look on it.  I wish I had done mine like you did!  Off topic I bought new seat belts from BE/A it came with a white plastic cover for the retractors.  Should I dye them black?  and I am not sure how they sit on the floor or mount to the retractors.  Any other vert owners that might know, I would appreciate it.  Thanks Allen

    Here's a few picures to update where I am after this weekends work. I got the door jambs painted and need to do one more color sanding on the body and it will be ready for paint. It's nice to have it back on 4 wheels again. This week I plan on getting the trunk bay and the bottom of the hood and deck lids painted. I have a deadline for having it ready for paint now. I put my name on the schedule to use the paint booth at the local community college on  November 15th.  If that doesn't work I can use it on the 22nd, but that will be my last opportunity this semester and I don't want to pay for another semester if I don't have to.
    If you are getting ready to paint a car you may want to look into taking a class at your local community college. The class I am taking is on Saturday mornings (4 hours) and is basically a class for hobbyists. They have 2 state of the art paint booths. It costs about $250 for the semester and you can use all of their equipment. Not a bad deal and you don't have to get overspray all over your garage.

    I hit a major milestone yesterday. I painted the car. Here are some shots of the car in the paint booth and coming back home. I shot 1 coat of 2K sealer, 3 coats of base coat curious yellow/citron yella and 4 coats of PPG 2042 Concept Clear. After that it was baked for 50 minutes at 145 Deg F and put onto the trailer for the ride home. Now all it needs is a little time for reassembly. I hope to have it back together in time for spring.
