What a great game !! What a series!!

]

Well looks like all that talk about having an European captain...the very first European captain at that...wouldn't be able to lead the team or that Datsyuk and Zetterberg would never be able to compete at such a level were false!

Guess now Detroit really is a dynasty...now they join the Edmonton Oilers with five Stanley Cup championships and the Islanders with four Stanley Cup championships

I hated when Steve Yzerman retired and Brendan Shanahan left...I wondered what was going to become of the Wings...but having Zetterberg and Datsyuk...I still get great entertaining hockey. They have to be up there with some of the greatest pairings in Detroit sports

What a great season, and an awesome playoff run.  For me, there was nothing better than seeing McCarty, Draper, and Osgood all together with the Cup again.  The Wizard of Oz really took it to 'em all season, and I couldn't be more proud of him.

This group is the very definition of the word 'team', and Don Cherry will just have to deal with it.  And congratulations to the Penguins - They've got a lot to be proud of, and should be a force for a while.

Let's Go Red Wings!

Both teams did really well.  I felt bad for the penguins as they really put forth a great effort.  Go Wings!  :thumbsup:

Nothing against the Wings, but seeing them win makes me ill.  On a business trip to Detroit about 15 years ago I noticed that there weren't a lot of foreign cars driving around, for obvious reasons.  I was told by numerous people that driving a foreign car around Detroit was asking for trouble (punctured tires, broken windows, keyed paint, dents, etc....).  Yet I notice that most of the players on the Red Wings in the last 15 years are foreigners.  So its ok for a foreign product to exist in Detroit, as long as it results in a Stanley Cup win.  Having been to numerous sporting events in Michigan the last 33 years (UM football, Lions), I've noticed a good portion of the crowd are autoworkers.  I'm quite sure many of those people have been guilty of vandalizing foreign cars, in fact I've had some tell me so.  Yet there they are in the stands rooting for foreign players.  Sorry, but the Wings winning a cup just reminds me of how hypocritical people in this country are.  Its ok as long as it serves your purpose..............

And before the hate mail rolls in, yes I realize that not everyone who roots for the Wings vandalizes foreign cars.
