If this is the A1 Electric Life kit, steer clear.  I installed 1 side, was so disappointed I sent it back.  You'll get some people claiming it works to some degree, but if you really press you'll hear the same story.

I'm waiting to hear some feedback on the XV kit.  Might work better, but it's very pricey.

The XV kit should be in my car. Whenever that gets finished...  :bricks1:

If I get the car soon and remember this thread, I'll let you know how they work.

I do recall John stating that there is a design flaw in many of the aftermarket (one size fits all) type of power window kits and that theirs was designed to fix the problem. I guess we'll see.

I believe this is the supplier for the XV windows. Although they don't list e-body on their website they did in a recent steet rodding ad.

Thanks, I was looking for that link when I saw this thread, couldn't remember their name. Click on pricing and they list E bodies as well!

Yeah, steer clear of the electric life 2 window kit. I put it in my Challenger right before it went in for paint and was discouraged to say the least. The fast rate of descent would not be so bad but the struggle to lift the window is just rediculous. I am going to either live with the piece of sh....aving cream, go back to manual regulators or get the XV kit. If I get the XV kit I will try to get it without the switches and buy the factory style Chrysler switches to set it off right.

Do the factory switches cover the hole for the window crank?

The factory switches mount at the same location as the window crank hole.  However, you have to cut the panel and make the opening square/rectangular to match the switch.  Look at the back side of the interior panel and you will see the outline (I have not done this, but I do have a set of factory power window switches and the size seems to match)

Since I was convinced the Electric Life kit would work and since I am going to put a 3 way component set in my car I actually mounted the BMW style rocker switches forward on the arm rest ledge of the door panel. I have to change my interior to white from black so its not a big deal but it sure sucks spending good money on something for a car only to find out its junk.

Also, take a look in a few good Street Rodder/Builder (32 coupes, etc.) type magazines. I'm not into the whole old street rod type of cars that much, but they sure inspire me for ideas. There are a lot of great looking billet switches available also for window kits, etc.

After reading this post, I figured that I'd add my 2 cents.   I have the Electric Life power window kit on my Cuda, and it is true that the windows go down faster than they come up.   When running my factory Cuda's alternator, there was insufficient "juice" to raise the window up faster while the engine was at idle.   If you gave the engine a little more rpm's by pressing on the gas pedal, you will notice that the window goes up much quicker.

Anyway, as time went on, I decided to swich to the Magnum's engine accessories because I wanted to run a serpentine belt and the higher amp alternator.   And, this change fixed the slow window raising problem.   I think that the Magnum's alternator puts out something like 130amps compared to the 65amps on our factory alternators.   And, the Magnum's Denso alternator puts out excellent "juice" at idle.   (No more headlights dimming while I sit at traffic lights)

Anyway, my point is more power = faster window raising.   And, less power = slow window raising.

Again, just my 2 cents.

I haven't seen any of these winder kits, however the micro switches on most windows won't carry large amounts of current for too long. Running a relay and wires direct to the battery will increase available current for the winder motor.    :2thumbs:
Yes a decent ampage alternator will definetly help also.
The kits I have fitted here in Australia were a little on the frail side.   :puke:

I like this idea, I'm sure someone makes them for Mopars.
