Nancy's new car
« on: June 10, 2008 - 01:35:11 PM »
Some of you may know we have been tring to find a good buildable A body for Nancy to drive. We have a 68 Dart and a 73 Swinger bought that we were going to use one or the other. Well this past weekend we came across this Duster and couldn't turn it down. The guy and his wife that had it is expecting their 3 child and just wanted to sell it as a quick sale. Right now it has a 318 four BBL and a 904. It also has an 8 3/4 rear and disc brakes under it. I have a 360 and 727 that's going in it down the line. For now we need to work on the interior and eventually get the bumpers rechromed. We don't think much of the painted bumpers.

Very cool Kenny!  What year Duster?

Is there chrome under the paint?  That would be nice...

Nice car - what a great find.  Assuming there's no rust, I wouldn't change a thing.   Gotta admit, I think about selling my E-body and picking up an A-body all the time.

Thanks all,

The story we got was it has new quarters and rockers and floor pans. It was painted 3 years ago and it was cut and buffed. The engine compartment was painted black whick will get redone when the 360 goes in. They mounted a fuel cell in the trunk. When they did this the trunk floor was cut out and a flat piece of tin was welded in. I'm not sure if I'll cut it out and install a new floor and put in an oem gas tank. At least this car Nancy can drive as we do the rest of the stuff it needs. It really needs attention to the interior bad.

I like it. It will be a fun car for Nancy. :2thumbs: I've owned a few Dusters and wouldn't mind having another one. :burnout:  I have the factory steering wheel for the Duster if you want it.

Love the stance and the tire/rim combo!  Very cool!

First time I've seen a body colored dash!  :eek7:  Looks interesting!

Nice find, I hope you and Nancy enjoy it.  My husband had a Duster when we started dating.  I wouldn't mind having another one!
