What a terrible tragedy
« on: June 12, 2008 - 07:54:04 AM »
Last night a tornado destroyed a Boy Scout camp about 1 hour north of Omaha in Little Sioux,  IA. So far their saying 4 people were killed and at least 40 injuries. They were out in the middle of nowhere with no shelter at all. I can't imagine what that must be like for the parents of those scouts. My thoughts and prayers go out to them.

That is a major bummer.  I cant even begin to imagine a tornado in the basement, let alone outside in the woods.   :scared:

Stuff like this is happening everywhere.  We had another crazy storm last night, branches down everywhere.  The wind and rain has been nonstop.  Supposed to storm bad again today.  There is flooding all over the upper midwest.  Makes you wonder.   :screwy:

Definately a sad day. I can still remember camping when I was in the scouts, and I can't even imagine what going through that must have been like. Definately have my family's best wishes and condolences as well  :angelwings:

Between this story and the couple tragedies at the Boy Scout Jamboree at Ft. AP Hill in Virginia the past few years, the Boy Scouts have had some really strange, bad luck lately.

Prayers for the families  :angelwings:

This bad weather just isn't letting up.  I heard there was another tornado down near Platteville, WI (Grant County) earlier today, along with flooding in Manitowoc, Oshkosh, and severe weather from Appleton all the way up to here (Iron Mountain, MI).  The channel I'm listening to is stationed out of Appleton and just said Oshkosh has called for a state of emergency...There are probably a ton of 911 calls going out right now, but the police station is currently without power...Man, here I thought last weekend down near Madison was a mess.

Verys terrible indeed.  My son and I were just on a Boy Scout camp out this past weekend but we were safe as we were on McCoy field in RI.  When I saw it was the Boy Scouts/death it really it home for me. :(  Especially when I have to go to 2 wakes tonight, one for my pastor and one for my neighbor's husband who got killed on his Harley on Sunday.  :'(

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of the Boy Scouts.  :angelwings:
