74 Challenger 318 PS PB AC Column Auto

Hey y'all -  I am thinking about selling my '74 Challenger.  I hate the idea of not having it anymore, but with the economy the way it is, I am trying to rid myself of debt.  The Challenger is a matching #'s 318 w/ 727 column-shift automatic.  It has power steering and brakes (front disk), working AC (compressor turns on and off, but it could stand a charge), an added digital tach, power antenna and electric trunk release where the cigarette lighter is.  It also has '71 aftermarket 15x7 rally wheels on it.  The glass in the car is the best I have ever seen - no streaks, no scratches.  The interior is good.  I have never searched for a buildsheet, but the car does have matching numbers on the cowl, radiator support, VIN, door and fender tag, and the original window sticker and bill of sale are with the car.  It was originally bought in San Antonio and later ended up in Virginia, as the owner was stationed at the local air force base in Hampton.  He sold to the guy I bought it from a few years back, and I bought it last year to drive until I got my Cuda done.  It is in very good condition; The undercarriage is perfect.  There is one small area of rust on the top of the cowl just underneath the driver's fender, and I am assuming that the car suffered light rear-end damage a long time ago - there is some filler on the back corners where the chrome trim is on the tail panel.  It was fixed well, but if you look hard, you can see the imperfections.  The car gets compliments everywhere it goes, and I have 2 guys from the Friday cruise-in who really want to buy the car.   Although I tell them to make me an offer, they just ask how much I want for it.  I'm not really pressed to sell it - I just would for the 'right' price, and I am not sure what that is.  It has a lot of wonderful qualities, but it is a column shift (which I love!), and I know a lot of folks don't like that.  Be honest!     Thanks for any input.

Very clean car! I wouldn't take less than 11k for it, thats what I paid for my '72 and it isn't nearly as clean, although I likely paid a little more than I should have given the market. 13k is probably a good ballpark for it given the times. I would hold on to it for sure!

I'd say more like 15k.  That sucker is cleeean.  Nice car.

Hello Winston old buddy ,

I was going to say between $15,000 and $18,000 as it is a nice car, but with the way the market is right now i think if someone paid $15,000 the buyer would be a very happy person.  How would that sit with you in regards to what you may of been thinking of my old mate.

Thanks for the kind words!  It really is a clean car, and I'd really miss it if I did let it go.

Ken, it's funny you said that - I was talking to my neighbor a couple weeks ago, and in general conversation, I told him if someone offered $18k, I'd let it go at this point.  So, that was the price I was  knocking around in my head.  It's a little high, but it is super solid and has some really nice options.  I appreciate those who chimed in!
