Which heads are on my motor?
« on: June 13, 2008 - 08:43:43 AM »
Need some help to find out which heads are on my motor.  Is there a way to tell which heads I have on my motor while it sits in the car?  I bought the car with the motor in it the owner could only provide the cam specs (280/474) as told by the previous owner.  Just trying to gain enough knowledge to map out where I go next.  Thanks to all who have helped me so far.  I get a little smarter everyday reading old posts.   :chatting:  You guys and gals are the greatest!!!!  :2thumbs:

I'm not positive, but I am pretty sure you have to at least pull the valve cover to look for the casting number.

:iagree: MrMopar440 is spot on.  The casting numbers are on one of the intake runners when you pull a tappet cover and look under the rocker gear, you will see the casting numbers.  Post them up here and we can help even more :2thumbs:

Yeah, pop a valve cover and you will see the numbers. If they end in 906, we are blood brothers.

Thanks Don,
